Happy Birthday Ty Fighter! How cute is he in the cute little tie his aunt Jojo gave him?! When we rescued him from Saving Grace NC we were told he was between 4-5 years old so we are going with today being his 5th birthday!
In honor of Ty's birthday month of May, we are doing a dog food drive to benefit SavingGraceNC. Saving Grace Animals for Adoption is where we found our sweet Ty Fighter and we had an amazing experience with them. The staff and volunteers are so friendly and helpful and all of the animals there are very well taken care of at all times.
If you are not local and would still like to help please visit our website and make a donation via paypal. All donations made through May 31st will benefit this food drive unless a note is made otherwise.
If you are local to the Raleigh/Wake Forest area just send us an email or private message us and we are happy to pick up your donation to be delivered to Saving Grace.
Please consider donating to this amazing non-profit organization. Riley's love for animals wasone of the things I love most to remember about him. I know he is smiling down on us today sending Tybirthday wishes from heaven and that he would be front and center "running the charge" if he were here helping us to organize this food drive! #rileysrainbows #savinggracenc
These awesome looking hats are being sold by the amazing Katie Moore Pure Energy Real Estate Team in Wilmington, NC to raise funds for three charities. We could not be more excited that Riley's Rainbows was chosen as one of these charities as well as Indo Jax Surf Charities and the Wrightsville Beach Sea Turtle Project.
Buy a hat and give back! You can pick up one of these stylish hats at Sweetwater Surf Shop, Steven's Hardware and Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage.
Thank you so much to the Pure Energy Katie Moore Real Estate Team at Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage!
The Duke Children's Hospital Toy Drive of 2016 was a huge success! Thank you so much to my dear friend, Katy, who was the sweet lady behind the idea to donate these toys in honor of Riley and Riley's Rainbows in the first place! She truly has a heart of gold! Of course, when she brought the idea up to us we were thrilled and jumped in wholeheartedly. Anytime we have the opportunity to put smiles on deserving children's faces and honor our angel at the same time is a win-win!
And what a win it was! Thanks to Katy's co-workers, family, friends, the fundraising purchases and donations that we received through Riley's Rainbows, Cub Scout Pack 511, Bad Daddy's Burger Bar at Seaboard Station and their generous employees and patrons we had to make two separate deliveries to Duke Children's Hospital to deliver all of the gifts!
Unfortunately, Katy was not able to get any photos the day she delivered the first round of gifts, but yesterday my husband, Rob, and our amazing friend, Amanda from Bad Daddy's, delivered a LITERAL truckload of toys and were able to get some awesome photos as well! My Expedition was truly filled to the brim (all the way to the front seat!) with toys!
When I went to Bad Daddy's at Seaboard Station Sunday night to see the tree and all of the donations, I was overwhelmed with emotion... (Can we say ugly cry?!) Cov DeRamus of Bad Daddy's and his AWESOME team did an amazing job of collecting toys, decorating their beautiful tree and even making a very special handpainted banner and ornaments!
Words cannot express how happy it makes us that the children at Duke Children's Hospital will have so much love and kindness to look forward to this Christmas. These kids and their families deserve as much love and happiness as we can give them. So let's all make sure we take the time to say a special prayer for them this holiday season. After all, isn't that what Christmas is all about?
This Christmas is a very tough one for Rob and me, but I can tell you that it truly warms our hearts thinking of the people that came together to make this happen in honor of Riley. Thank you to all, our sweet angel is certainly smiling down on every last one of you this holiday season!
Many prayers of love, hope and strength to all of the children and families at Duke Children's Hospital this holiday season. May God bless you all! #rileysrainbows
More kindness sent out into the world in honor of our sweet angel, Riley! Thanks to the generosity of your donations and purchases, Rob and I were able to donate toys to the Wake Med Children's Hospital Toy Drive this Christmas season, as well as the Duke Children's Hospital Toy Drive.
A special thank you to Dr. Amy Griffin for coming by to pick up our dontation. Dr. Griffin and her staff at the Wake Med Children's Hospital Emergency Department have a special place in our heart.
We plan to continue this tradition in Riley's honor for many years to come. Many blessings to the children, families, and caring staff at Wake Med Children's Hospital from the Riley's Rainbows Family.
Thank you so much to Bad Daddy's Burger Bar at Seaboard Station in Raleigh for all of the gifts they are donating to the Duke Children's Hospital in honor of Riley's Rainbows and for the beautiful handmade ornament adorning their tree! Cov and his team at Seaboard are truly special to us!
We are so excited to donate these toys from Riley's Rainbows to the Duke Children's Hospital Toy Drive! Thank you to my dear friend Katy for asking us if she could honor Riley through this program and to all of our supporters for your help! This is just one of the things your contributions are allowing us to take part in this holiday season !
More updates to come on this event!
