About Riley's Rainbows
This website has been created to honor our son, Riley Michael Coenen, who gained his angel wings on April 19, 2016. We have created this foundation to honor Riley by helping to spread love and kindness throughout our community in hopes that others will do the same.
One of the things we are most proud of in Riley is his generosity. Our sweet boy truly had the spirit of giving within him! He took such pleasure in giving to others, whether it was bringing a tasty treat we had just baked over to our neighbors, offering to walk a friend’s dog, checking in on a neighbor whose spouse was traveling or buying ice cream for the people in the line behind us at our local ice cream shop, these are just a few examples of his thoughtfulness. It was just his nature, and Rob and I truly loved witnessing that within him.
In honor of his giving spirit, we will be dedicating a big part of the Riley’s Rainbows project to “Random Acts for Riley”. I have created printable pages that anyone can download and share with others if they like when they perform an act of kindness. If you would like to have a copy of our Printable Riley's Rainbows cards, please visit our printables page tab and you can print as many copies as you may need.
Our hope is that people will continue this kindness in some small way and share their story with us on any of our social media pages and inspire others to share kindness throughout their own community. We like to think that Riley will be looking down on us from heaven with a huge smile for each act of kindness that is performed in his honor with blessings and hugs from heaven to all!
We also have products available for sale to raise funds for Riley’s Rainbows such as 11 oz. and 20 oz. coffee mugs. All proceeds will go to Riley’s Rainbows and will allow us to be able to help out local families in need, provide children’s scholarships to summer camps and other activities and to support local schools and other various charitable causes.
There are are countless other families grieving and struggling with the loss of a child or other loved one, so we are also providing grief resources that we have found helpful throughout this difficult time here. We have been so fortunate to have so much love and endless prayers bestowed upon us and we are truly grateful. In a way, this project is also a small way that we can pay it forward.
